Nearby is the city of Bonito (about 3 to 4 hours from a South Pantanal lodge) – a paradise for ecotourists. Explore easy interpretative trails at your own pace, discovering many cascades, natural pools and caves on the way; savor the local gastronomy; contemplate the macaws flocking in a huge sandstone crater; float on crystal-clear rivers and feel you are part of a natural aquarium (with the option of going on a support boat); and why not rappel into a cave and snorkel on the transparent waters surrounded by cave formations (it may sound like an incredible adventure, but it does not take an athlete to do that!).

Finally, Foz do Iguaçu suits those looking for action as well as the more contemplative-type visitors. Either way, be mesmerized by the power of nature in the largest sequence of waterfalls in the world inlaid between Brazil and Argentina – and a visit to both sides is highly recommended. A family hit is a visit to the Bird Park where you wander around free flying birds and butterflies and is also home to marmosets, alligators and pythons. Also be open for the other possibilities such as hiking, jeep tours in the jungle, boat rides and helicopter flights guaranteeing impressive views from the top.
